FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions from Our Customers
Is the hard drive repaired during data recovery?

If the data loss is due to mechanical damage to the hard drive, the drive is temporarily restored for the data recovery process. However, we do not recommend continued use of the hard drive after data recovery.
How is the data actually recovered?
If necessary, defective components are replaced in order to perform the data recovery. The data is read out using specialized, partly individually programmed software. This enables us to skip critical hard drive areas and protect components.
Can the data also be recovered on-site at our company?
On-site data recovery is unusual. In our data recovery laboratory, we can perform reconstructions in a dust-protected environment (cleanroom). Learn more about our locations and drop-off points. An on-site data recovery would involve considerable effort and therefore additional costs for you.
How do I receive the recovered data?
You receive the recovered files on a new storage device of your choice. You can either pick it up from us or have it sent to you. Provision of the data via cloud storage is also possible.
When do I have to pay for the data recovery?
You can conveniently pay for the data recovery by debit / credit card or bank transfer. By the way, you only incur costs if the data recovery was successful. Find all details on our pricing page. If your data cannot be rescued, we will not charge you a single cent.
Is sensitive data treated confidentially?
We strictly comply with all legal regulations regarding the protection of personal data. Other data is also treated in strict confidence by us. All our employees are specially trained in handling sensitive data. Furthermore, all data protection requirements of the GDPR and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG-neu) are meticulously observed. Particularly confidential data is only processed by employees who are authorized through security clearance level 1 (Ue1) per Section 8 SÜG.
